Friday 8th June

Arrive at our BnB between 2 and 4 pm. At 4pm we will head down together in our van to one of our local “bike friendly” pubs/micro breweries "The Crafty Trout" for a brewery tour followed by some local micro brews,  some tasting platters and pizza (included) and have a chin wag about the upcoming days adventures.

Saturday 9th June

Breakfast 8AM - Famous dutch pancakes - these have been enjoyed by all who have tried them. Maaike, my dutch wife has made these for guests and friends from all over the world. Cheese and bacon are the favourite. Espresso coffee and smoothie included.

Saturday ride 22km - 35km (optional Craters of the Moon). After breakfast we head out from our BnB by bike (5min) to the start of the Rotary Ride (grade 3) to Huka falls (4km) our most visited attraction and then on to Aratiatia Dam (7km). We will watch this open which allows diverted water back down the rapids made famous in a number of films including most recently The Hobbit barrel fight scene. We return along the other side of the Waikato River to our lunch spot. Coffee is on us. After lunch you have two options either return to your accommodation or come for a ride around Craters of the Moon Mountain Bike Park which is playing host to the Craters Classic.

Saturday evening is "pre race" dinner and  we will leave this up to you. We will offer advice on where to go or if you would like to use the BnB's kitchen to cook then please feel free.

Sunday 10th June -  Craters Classic Day

Breakfast - We will provide continental breakfast tea and coffee. As it is event day we encourage you to eat what you would normally eat before an event. Please bring with you any special requirements.

At the event we will have a tent onsite at the event which will have a bbq and refreshments for you after the event. It is also a great place to leave extra gear.

We can take everyone together down to the event in our shuttle or you can make your own way if you prefer.

After prize giving we will make our way over to Wairakei geothermal hot pools for a good hot soak, event storytelling and then back to our BnB for a Mum cooked Sunday evening roast meal.

Monday 11th June

Breakfast continental and eggs/ bacon coffee and smoothie. After breakfast we load up the bikes and make our way to Whakaipo bay to begin one section of the Great Lake Trail. We stop at L'arte Café on the way to caffeine up. The (W2K) section of the Great Lake Trail is 22km of single track finishing at the town of Kinloch. In Kinloch we will head for a hot drink and some food. Coffee/hot drink is included. When lunch is concluded we will take our bikes and board a boat shuttle to take us back to Taupo marina via our famous Maori Rock carvings, and from here we head back to our BnB where you can shower clean bikes and pack up.
