Event Age Guidelines & Parent Support

Parents and caregivers can ride at no cost when riding alongside their child for support, but you must stay together on the course.

Parents do not need to register if they are simply accompanying and supporting their child in the Kids Event OR the Aratiatia Adventure.

Aratiatia Adventure

• Minimum age: 8 years

• Riders younger than 8 may participate only if discussed with event organisers prior to the event.

Pumice Pacer & Craters Classic

• Minimum age: 16 years

• Riders younger than 16 may participate only if discussed with event organisers prior to the event.

Age Groups

Age groups are calculated based on the rider’s age on event day.

Kids Discount

All children 15 years and under will receive a $25 discount for all events excluding Kids Craters.

This discount will be automatically applied during online registration.

Kids Craters Event

• No minimum age

• Maximum age: 15 years

Any child who cannot ride the course confidently must be supported and accompanied by an adult.. There will be course marshals on the trails, however they cannot supervise every rider at all times.

Depending on the situation, a parent or caregiver may ride, walk, or run alongside their child as a support person.
